There's a lot of fun things to fit in to today, so I'll try to be brief, but probably fail because my mind is packed with STUFF. Here's a couple of projects I'm preparing to paint:
The background to a largeish painting I'm hoping to finish in the next couple of weeks. Just hop[ing the adhesive I have used will dry well and not end up crinkkling the pages too much! If it does, however, I could always (and I'm quite excited about this look) distress it so it resembles another background I'm working on:
I love how some of the torn pages have ended up with the print in reverse, plus the gloss varnish exaggerating the aged look of the page edges, along with it looking somehow mappish! I love maps! I'm really excited about these projects. Hope hope, hope they work out. Also, I have a few of these new babies on the way:
One is a wedding comission for a friend - will post photos soon if I remember!
I've been taking photos recently on the top of an old travelling case, which my dad bought ages ago. It has been bashed around over the years (before we got it), but that just adds to the beauty of it, doesn't it? My dad used to find all sorts of old, gorgeous items like suitcases, old work tools and other antiques and I've kind of inherited that from him - anything that's old and high quality, I'll try my best to get my mitts on it (for the best price possible, of course!)! When we get a day with better light, unlike today, which is rather grey and soggy, I'll take some proper photos of said travelling case.
Oh. Here's some more zoo pics:
I think you might be able to guess the animals in the first photo. If it wasn't so crowded, I could have stayed watching them for hours - they were so calming, gentle and graceful I think it made everyone feel good just to be around them.
The second photo is the Amur leopard, listed on Wiki as critically endangered, with fewer than 35 individuals known in the wild, but on the zoo sign as extinct in the wild. You can have a peek at the Amur leopard enclosure in Tallin Zoo here. Nothing happening at the monent. Just lots of snow. I have a feeling I'll be watching this quite a lot! And onto another cat - the Sand Cat!
Yes - I know all cats are cute and not to decry your own lovely house cat, but these were impossibly cute and extra fluffy!
Kittens! OK. I am totally cuted out now and must leave this online world to do real things.
Back soon, hopefully withe the competition I promised (there has been a delay due to printing paper not arriving on time :( but fret not - I'll let you know when the day comes!)
